The Bavarian Garden Festival is an annual community event held in Sydney, Australia, celebrating Bavarian culture, music, food, and craftsmanship. As part of a conceptual project I wanted to  create a unique and captivating brand identity to enhance their event's recognition and connect with a wider audience. The design reflects the festival's essence - a handcrafted, community-focused celebration of Bavarian heritage.
The centerpiece of the brand identity is the festival's logo. I aimed to create a logo that represented the handcrafted nature of the event while maintaining a Bavarian aesthetic. A custom, hand-drawn logomark  using variations of blue instantly connects with the festival's focus on craftmanship and culture.
Hand-drawn illustrations play a significant role in the Bavarian Garden Festival brand identity. I created a series of illustrations that showcase various aspects of the event, such as traditional Bavarian pretzels and bratwurst as well as natural elements like flowers and a distinctive sun character. These illustrations are used across promotional materials, merchandise, and signage, infusing the brand with a sense of authenticity and uniqueness
The brand identity was seamlessly applied across various touchpoints, including posters, flyers, social media graphics, merchandise (such as t-shirts and mugs), and event signage. Each application used the custom logo, color palette, and quirky typography to maintain a cohesive and visually engaging identity.
This project exemplifies the power of design in capturing the essence of an event and fostering a sense of belonging and tradition within a community.
